EDUCATING FOR A SOCIAL GAP

One of the most important social problems or social issue that we can experiment now in Chile, is the difference of class. Sadly we have an incredible big social gap now, and any government, year after year, tried to eliminate poverty, but I think that is a failure, because the government tried to resolve the problem but, them not paying attention to the cause of this problem.  

I think the generator of this social issue is the education, the society with the government educate children to create some standard personality, they educate to create equal but without paying attention in the difference of the children.

To start to solve the cause and not the problem, the government have to apply a different educational program since kindergarten, because is in this part of the educational development and human development when children shape their personality, and with this kind of starting point, the educational system it´s start to change, focusing in the educate different people and not to create similar human being´s, this means that in the future this children’s will grow with less prejudices, and they begin to create a new country, a country with more equal society, with more alternatives to scale in this social pyramid, but not with economic help, or different kind of bonus, the change of the way that de society thinks start to change,  when good education it´s a possibility to any child no matter where he lives, or where he born, because this new generation, this generation that had a change in his process of development, they will become in human social integrators.

In conclusion, the solution of this problem must be in the base of the problem, answering why this social gap exist in Chile, keeping apart the economic problem of poverty, I think that the answer at this question comes from the education of the new generation.

 

The Internet: Good or Evil?

The internet access has many advantages, now is more easily find information about everything, it’s easier and faster, but with this, search this same information in books it´s almost forgotten. This easier possibility to find information give us a new problem, which is a lot of the information in the web reliable, so with time children’s learn that, and it´s important to know where I get the information.

During this last 20 years, the internet access at home has increased, and with this, the possibility for children 

entering into a dangerous contents in some web pages are increased to. I think when a new technology come to us, to make this better and easier, it’s us responsibility learn how to use it, in the case of children or young people (or why not, old people to) using internet, the school and his family has the responsibility to teach the children’s how the internet works and the risk that this technology has.

Another interesting point that internet use or abuse brings, it’s about the loss of certain social skills, now the boys and girls prefer talk each other using text messages with Facebook, or WhatsApp, and the experience to talk with other person it’s being left behind and replace with some technology, the skills that children learn talking and expressing what they think and feel also are replace with technological tools.

The most important thing that I think, it’s the responsibility of human being to teach the new generations about how new technologies affect our life, and how the human begin need to use this technology with conscience, so internet it’s good for children’s and all of us, but if used without responsibility knowledge, ends up as a bad tool in work, school or life in general.

Big Family Trip

My best holydays was 11 years ago, when I was 14, my whole family and I traveled to Coyhaique to visit some aunts who lives there. My grandparents flew directly to Coyhaique, but me and my brothers and sister drove with my parents to Puerto Montt then we took a ship where we park the car inside, and share a room. We travel by the sea for 2 days until we finally arrived to Puerto Chacabuco in Puerto Aysen, then we drove for 45 minutes to get to the city of Coyhaique.

This holydays were specials, because the entire family was there, we visited a lot of places near Coyhaique, the most important place that we visited that time, was the marble caverns in Puerto Tranquilo, the caverns are like a maze under a island, you can go inside of them, we pay for a boat and rowed across the lake until we get to the caverns, then we travel inside of that maze, it was wonderful. Another good experience was the food, we tasted a lot of good meet, in particular lamb meet, we saw how the “Asado Parado” was cooked, the lamb is place in a cross, totally extended, and then this cross is nailed on the ground, around the fire. This preparation takes like 5 or 6 hours to be ready to eat, and the experience to be there with the people of the Patagonia, drinking and talking about their stories was amazing.

Sadly the holidays are not forever, and my family and I, come back to Talagante, but the return wasn´t bad, because we traveled by ship again, for 2 days. It´s incredible be in the middle of nowhere, surrounded of water, enjoying the clean air y quiet space, I hope can go soon to the amazing places that we have in the south, maybe the next time I can complete the austral road.

 The woman who lead a cultural change

Manal Al-sharif it´s an activist woman from Saudi Arabia, who confronts the authority’s, culture and manners, doing a simple act that in the world it´s something trivial, like drive a car. This act means a treason to the culture and Saudi laws, she was detained and spent a few days in jail.

After this situation, she take the decision to try to change this part of the Saudi culture, try to explain to his society that this part of the manners of his people wasn´t right, she turn in to the face of the freedom of the Saudi woman’s, demonstrating with facts, that woman driving it´s not comparable to rape, kill, infidelity or prostitution. With this position she has the support of many, many people around the world, but in his country she still saw like a traitor, but thanks to all that demonstrated support on social networks, now woman can drive in Saudi Arabia. Manal al-sharif now is fighting for the freedom of woman´s, telling to the world from the scenario of TEDglobal his incredible story about confrontation to the “status quo” dominant in their country.

It´s incredible that things so little for us, like woman drive a car, in other countries with different culture cause that reaction, not only for the authority’s, almost for all the people who lived in Saudi Arabia. I think that it´s important always recognize and care our culture and origins, but society and countries are immerse in a world in progress, all of the countries and his cultures can evolve, must evolve always with the objective in welfare of his people. It´s too important for all the people know about freedom to live, humans and society must work together for benefit of both.
