 The woman who lead a cultural change

Manal Al-sharif it´s an activist woman from Saudi Arabia, who confronts the authority’s, culture and manners, doing a simple act that in the world it´s something trivial, like drive a car. This act means a treason to the culture and Saudi laws, she was detained and spent a few days in jail.

After this situation, she take the decision to try to change this part of the Saudi culture, try to explain to his society that this part of the manners of his people wasn´t right, she turn in to the face of the freedom of the Saudi woman’s, demonstrating with facts, that woman driving it´s not comparable to rape, kill, infidelity or prostitution. With this position she has the support of many, many people around the world, but in his country she still saw like a traitor, but thanks to all that demonstrated support on social networks, now woman can drive in Saudi Arabia. Manal al-sharif now is fighting for the freedom of woman´s, telling to the world from the scenario of TEDglobal his incredible story about confrontation to the “status quo” dominant in their country.

It´s incredible that things so little for us, like woman drive a car, in other countries with different culture cause that reaction, not only for the authority’s, almost for all the people who lived in Saudi Arabia. I think that it´s important always recognize and care our culture and origins, but society and countries are immerse in a world in progress, all of the countries and his cultures can evolve, must evolve always with the objective in welfare of his people. It´s too important for all the people know about freedom to live, humans and society must work together for benefit of both.

Global warming: It´s the reason of the change of the environment, it´s been caused by the indiscriminate utilization of the natural resources.

Soil Change: One of the biggest changes that the earth are experimenting right now, the drought of the grounds.

Oil Consume: Now we are consuming a lot of fossil fuel, and that kind of fuel is not renewable and for this, we are making a lot of damage to the planet.

Green Energy: It´s the kind of energy that we can get cleanly with no damage to the nature and it´s renewable.

Melting Glaciers: The global warming is elevating the temperature at the point that the glaciers are melt, and the water that we can consume it´s going to disappear.

The video or documentary it´s about how we are destroying our planet. The main topic it´s the consume of the natural resources in an irresponsible way, this natural resources are not infinite, and that is the problem, the video show us how can be the earth in a possible future, an apocalyptic future, where the cities are abandoned by his people, the food it´s limited and the soil isn´t good for plant anymore.

For me the most important thing that we can do like  an architect´s , geographer´s or designer´s its create and work always thinking the cleaner way to do our job, how can we consume less natural resources or how can re-use the existent materials. Other thing that the designer’s always think first after design something, it´s asking about the disuse of an object or our design, it´s important because if the object done his job correctly and is not going to be use anymore, doesn’t disappear, it still there and this is the crucial moment, when the object is not the object anymore, cannot be garbage, must be a new resource, an a resource that another people can use, or the beginning of a new design, but we need to do responsible not only for the use of our objects also for the time that we are not going to used anymore.

1. Well is interesting how the movie talks about the resources which are necessary to raise cattle, and how can take a percentage of these resources to plant vegetables.

2. Another interesting thing it´s the new use can we give to the electrics car, and how can design an electric public transportation with the principle of electric train build with their our cars, and travel in a set road for this train and then we disconnect our car when he arrives near to the place that we need to go.

3. The forms that we can get clean energy, it´s not necessary bought an expensive solar board to get solar energy for our home, it´s time to expand the ways that we can get this energy and make this ways cheaper for more people can access to this.

RIH (rest in holidays :D )

My name is Esteban, I´m an Industrial Design student at the Universidad the Chile. I’m a funny person, I like sports, music, play video games, read comic books and all those geek stuffs :D, I love Sci-Fi movies and animation, that’s  all about me, I thing, so I continue with my duty in this class. This semester I going to be in this English 3 class, and my first home work was write a little text talking about me and my past holidays, so here I go.

I spent almost all the summer in my house, I didn’t want to work, but this not means that I didn´t had some work to do. I was working like a freelance designer, in a friend project, about social networks, meanwhile I enjoy the hot weather swimming in the pool by afternoon and playing soccer at least 3 days a week, for me the summer is for sports and rest, so I tried to do this things in the week, but in the weekend I pass the time with my girlfriend, who was doing his internship in a bank, so we can´t see much each other during the week, only the weekends. In the last two weeks of February I went to Valparaiso to spend the last part of the holidays with my girlfriend and his family, it was nice be with them, we woke late, saw movies and had long walks along the beach, in the nights me and my girlfriend and his brother, spent a lot of time playing video games, specially Mario World 3D (the last Mario Bros game). The last week of the holidays we went to the stadium to see the match against Santiago Wanderers and Internacional de Porto Alegre in the inauguration of the new Wanderers stadium, a perfect ending for a good summer.
